WEEE
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) came into force in January 2007. The WEEE Directive aims to both reduce the amount of electrical and electronic equipment being produced and to encourage everyone to reuse, recycle and recover it. The WEEE Regulations place responsibilities on Producers (Manufacturers, Importers or Re-branders) of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) which is placed on the UK market. These producers are now required by law to register with a Producer Compliance Scheme (PCS).
